Christen Joy Interior Design is a full-service design studio known for creating spaces that feel as effortless as they are elevated. Founded in 2016 by principal designer Christen Anderson, her design firm is based in the Fargo–Moorhead area and brings its signature balance of beauty and function to projects across the region, from lakes country to nearby communities and beyond, reaching clients coast to coast.
Christen approaches every project with both precision and heart. Her clients, from visionary entrepreneurs, busy families to empty nesters ready to build their dream homes, trust her to craft environments that reflect their stories and support their everyday lives. Every space she designs is rooted in a deep understanding of how her clients enjoy their day-to-day busy lives, designing spaces that are unique to her clients while layered in thoughtful design.
Behind the scenes, the experience is as seamless as the finished product. Christen and her team produce thorough construction and renovation documents that ensure clarity for builders and trades, guiding projects from the first meeting through construction, furnishing, styling, and the final reveal. While clients weigh in on the moments that matter most, the studio takes on the workload — coordinating details, advocating for the design, and acting as their eyes and ears throughout the project. The result is a process, and a home, defined by ease, excellence, and joy.

Christen Anderson
Before founding her namesake design studio, Christen Anderson built a career rooted in precision, creativity, and connection.
A graduate of the University of North Dakota, she began her professional journey at Microsoft in Seattle, where she refined her strengths in project management, marketing, and brand strategy. Recognized early for her clarity, collaboration, and vision, she quickly learned how thoughtful organization and inspired ideas could move even the most complex projects forward.
After building her first home, Christen discovered that her true passion lived in design — in crafting spaces through detailed collaboration with builders & trades, carefully considered design decisions & selections that balance beauty with purpose. Guided by that calling, she launched Christen Joy Interior Design, a studio that blends business discipline with creative intuition. Her process is rooted in communication and care, ensuring every project feels as seamless as it is stunning.
In 2022, she brought her own vision to life through The Dutch — a Dutch Colonial that reflects her signature sensibility: timeless yet spirited, layered with texture, color, and soul. Today, Christen continues to create spaces that feel collected and calm, designed for the way people truly live — and always infused with the quiet joy her name promises.
